EFFEA - the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists – is a project that offers emerging artists a platform to develop their career on an international level through festivals.
The project has launched a Call to support 3 festivals (one leading festival and two partner festivals) take one artist, collective, company, ensemble or group in all artistic disciplines for a residency under their wings between 1 February 2023 and 31 December 2023. Two types of residencies:
- EFFEA “Discovery” Artist in residence of 8.000€ for early career artists with exceptional talent who are ready to break through internationally.
The leading festival, together with 2 partner festivals, will form a partnership with the purpose of creating bridges for the artist to develop through a residency and coaching. - EFFEA “Springboard” Artist in residence of 15.000€ for mid-career artists, established in their own country, who are ready to develop their career internationally and who will present their work at three festivals in Europe (the leading festival and two partners).
The budget should be used to cover the costs related to the residency of the artist (such as travel, accommodation, and subsistence; fees.). The main objective is to support an emerging artist and make his/her/their residency possible. The Call is open to festivals that are based in one of the eligible countries to partner with at least two other festivals in different countries. This first EFFEA call will support in total 50 festivals. Applications can be submitted until 15 November 2022 on the EFFEA platform. Find more information here.
