Funding

Getting to know our neighbours is a form of sustainable development, even more so if we cooperate with them on projects of the same nature. The Swedish Institute offers funding to support this motivation.

The Svenska institutet (Swedish Instute, SI) hosts the Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme and thereby grants an opportunity to foster ideas like this further. It offers funding to start and expand cooperation on economically, environmentally and socially sustainable development in the EU countries around the Baltic Sea and in the EU's Eastern neighbourhood.

In this programme, Swedish organisations as main applicants work on cross-border challenges and opportunities together with organisations from at least two EU countries around the Baltic Sea or countries in the EU’s Eastern Partnership. To support this, two different types of grants are being offered: Seed funding and funding for cooperation projects. Seed funding goes up to SEK 400,000 (~ EUR 34,500), cooperation project funding may reach SEK 1,000,000 (~ EUR 86,200).

Since partnerships must consist of a legal entity based in Sweden as the main applicant being responsible for the project’s implementation and reporting, the SI offeres additional Q&A sessions for them on 30 January and 6 February. The details to these sessions among other information on the application process are here.
