Interview Lara Löser - CCI Contact Desk Project Manager

CCI Contact Desk News

We are back from the summer break and have brought some exciting news with us: the CCI Contact Desk will be managed from now on by Lara Löser. We asked Lara a few questions to get to know her better.

1. How would you describe yourself in three words?

I am open-minded, empathetic, and passionate.

2. What inspired you to pursue your current career path?

The Cultural and Creative Industries Contact Desk is a perfect fit for me. As a German living in Estonia and having spent a semester in Sweden, I consider the Baltic Sea Region my home. Even in my master's studies, I focused on the region while studying International Relations. Therefore, I am fortunate to contribute to shaping and promoting this area.

3. What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?

The reason I find the CCI Contact Desk suitable for me also answers this question. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the cello and have even contemplated pursuing a career as a musician for several years. As a result, you may see me frequenting opera houses and theaters more often than you would expect. Additionally, I am an avid reader who delights in immersing myself in words and crafting my own world with each book. Lastly, I recently completed the Camino Primitivo trek in Spain, strengthening my love for hiking.

4. Can you tell us about a particularly memorable experience or accomplishment in your life?

One of the most unforgettable experiences of my life was when I went on an exchange program to Estonia eight years ago. It was after my tenth grade in high school and I decided to take my first step towards exploring the world. Surprisingly, I ended up staying in Estonia permanently, learned their language and culture, and eventually earned a master's degree from the University of Tartu. Life has been fantastic ever since. It's amazing how one decision can change your life forever.

5. What values do you hold most important, and how do they guide your decisions?

I hold certain values as essential in my personal and professional life. These include openness, compassion, responsibility, and growth.

To me, being open and compassionate means allowing others to express themselves freely and giving them a space where they can be heard. In a world that can be overwhelming and loud, I strive to be a place of calm where people can be heard without having to shout.

Responsibility is also a key value of mine. I believe that I am accountable not only for my own well-being but also for those around me, including the environment. I take action to fulfill my responsibilities in these areas.

Lastly, growth is an essential value to me. I see myself as a sponge, eager to absorb new experiences and impressions to facilitate personal growth. Living up to my responsibilities and providing a space for others to be heard is also about being willing to learn and evolve as a person.
