Deadline Call for Proposals for Conference on Sustainability in Practice

Follow the invitation to the conference on "Sustainability in Practice: DIY Repair, Reuse and Innovation" which will be held in Tartu from October 30th to November 2nd, 2024 and the coinciding Call for Proposals.

The event will be focusing on ecological sustainability through do-it-yourself (DIY) practices and consumer behavior. The conference will examine sustainability in everyday life, particularly emphasizing DIY repair, reuse, and vernacular innovation in domestic and community settings. By bringing together perspectives from ethnology, anthropology, sociology, and craft studies, the conference aims to showcase and discuss contemporary, traditional, and vernacular sustainable practices.

The open call is aiming for proposals for presentations, workshops, and documentaries to behanded in until the 31st of March that delve into different forms of DIY practices, solutions, innovation, and material culture concerning sustainability in various settings and regions. Along with scholars from academia, experts from memory institutions, and craft scholars, the invitation is extended to activists, craftsmen, and designers to share their knowledge and experiences at this conference.
